Life Changes When Priorities Change
Life changes when priorities change. That is my mantra lately. I have started working full time again, my boys are active in hockey, my life has changed. My business has taken a back seat, and I am ok with that. I am ok with 7 am hockey games that are an hour away. I am ok with not being able to clean the house or grocery shop while the kids are in school anymore. Life changes and I must change as well. I still enjoy photographing the world around me, even if I do it less now. I mean, how can you not want to document moments such the one above?
My boys are happier, my husband is happier, so of course this makes me happy! Here's to the life of a full time working hockey mom!

Autumn Senior Session

Believe it or not, ANY time of year is good for a senior session. What is your favorite season? Why not reflect that in your portraits? Liav chose to have hers taken with the fall colors around her. We were lucky enough to get to shoot at one of the best local farms in Enfield, Collins ! I can't thank Collins Farm enough for letting shoot there. Despite the very "friendly" bees that just wanted to be on you, the scenery was perfect!

Intimate Moments

I was asked to shoot a wedding a couple years ago for a couple who had just gotten engaged. At the time I was not doing weddings and advised the couple to have a back up in case I decide not to get into the wedding market.
A couple years later, a few weddings behind me, and here is the couple that had faith in me from day 1. Thank you Dani and Chris for letting me document your beautiful day. You are a wonderful couple and deserve all the happiness in the world.
Your wedding day turned out perfectly, no rain, gorgeous overcast skies, and family surrounding you. Congratulations!

With the Season of Summer...

With the Season of Summer soon approaching, thoughts of graduation and summer parties are the first things on our minds. For those upcoming Senior class men, it is also time to consider who you want to use for your senior portrait photographer. Emma chose to allow me to mark this time in her life with a special shoot at Harkness Memorial State Park in Connecticut. What a beautiful location! It was perfectly suited for how beautiful Emma is. She asked her boyfriend, Dan to be in a couple shots as well. They are a perfect couple!

Cutest Kid Contest Winner

Ethan came in for his free session that his Mommy won during the Cutest Kid Contest! He was celebrating his First Birthday! Not only did we take shots outside, but we also had studio time included. Of course I had a small cake waiting for him for a fun CAKE SMASH session to end our time shooting (always want to do those last considering the mess, Ethan left smelling like sweet sugar LOL).

Two Pounds of Personality!

The best things come in little packages. I found that quote to be true when I met Stacy's new fur (or not so much fur) baby, Sapphire. Personally I think SpitFire may have been a good name for her! She arrived for the photo shoot wrapped in a warm fleece blanket, slightly sleepy, and a little groggy. Within minutes she was darting back and forth in the room chasing what ever moved. Not only was she fast, but she was vocal! Sapphire made sure you knew how she felt about each pose or prop that was introduced. "No I will not sit in that bowl. This scale is COLD. Yarn YARN Glorious YARN!!"
Thank you again, Stacy, for letting me capture Sapphires first pictures. I hope they are a reminder of those precious kitten days that will fly by so quickly (which I'm sure you may be anxious for with how often she is waking you at night).

The Gift

Sometimes the best gifts for Valentine's Day are those we give of ourselves. My session on Sunday reflected just that thought. Carla has worked hard to become healthy and had lost 75 pounds. Now with the confidence to show off that accomplishment, she decided to have a boudoir session done special for her husband. Carla kept in mind the items that meant the most to her husband (his guitar) and even his favorite color (red), all to make the session that much more personal. Carla is excited to share her gift this Valentine's Day, I'm excited for her!
